  8. * What does My Type 0.3 do?
  9.  
  10.     My Type 0.3 will print a catalog of all the installed fonts on your mac.

  12. * What about the preferences?

  14.     The general preferences are pretty self explanatory - this is where you tell My Type 0.3 what to print in each font.

  16.     The printing preferences are a little more complicated though. The first option tells My Type 0.3 to print the entire catalog as one document which may be fine for those of you with StyleWriters and other printers where the mac does all the processing. The second option, print as individual pages is a good choice for those of you who have Laser Printers. By choosing this option each page will be printed separately so you won't have to download all your fonts to the Laser Printer at once. I have a lot of fonts and my LaserWriter could not handle them all. If you have a big laser printer and want to try option 1 be my guest.

  18. * What about the edit menu items?

  20.     Some of the items are currently non-functional, this will be fixed in version 0.4.

  22. * Note : I use the Apple List Manager in the catalog windows and Apple has documented that lists with over 500 items tend to slow the list manager down.
  23. The amount of data represented in the list cannot exceed 32K as well. However, in order to exceed 32K you would have to have a few thousand fonts installed.

  25. * How do I print a catalog of my fonts?

  27.     1. Open My Type 0.3 and set your preferences by choosing Preferences from
  28.        the File menu.

  30.     2. Select New from the File Menu

  32.     3. Either use Select All from the Edit Menu or select the fonts you wish to
  33.        print with the mouse cursor.

  39.     This is my first major Macintosh™ application that does anything worthwhile. It was written in CodeWarrior® 9 Pascal for the PowerPC™ line of computers. I am a 17 year old Freshman at the University of Central Florida and I am majoring in Computer Science.

  41. * Why did I include the source code?

  43.     I included the source code so that if anyone downloads this that is an experienced programmer they might be able to send me suggestions for optimizing and cleaning up my code so that I can write better code in the future and that possibly less experienced programmers will learn from my code as well.

  45. * How much does My Type 0.3 cost?

  47.     My Type 0.3 is absolutely free. I only ask that if you recompile the source that you do not redistribute it under my name. If I find that this is happening I will stop releasing the source code to my programs.

  51.     I was thinking of writing a program to print labels or maybe writing my own version of a list manager or incorporating Apple Events into My Type. Any suggestions?
